Greetings,
I'm here to tell you about a wonderful challenge to help us raise money
for the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts.
A generous donor has come forward to match, dollar for dollar,
all gifts for the Met up to $7500. With $15,000 more to go to
meet the budget, this would sure DO IT!
AND, we have a Charter Challenge Champion. Huge thanks to Brattleboro Savings & Loan for
pledging $1000 to the match.
Only $6500 to go.
In case you forgot, here's the story: Brattleboro Arts
Initiative, in an exciting joint venture with the Brattleboro Music
Center, is
bringing the Metropolitan Opera Live in HD to the Latchis starting this
fall. Experience the Opera as it happens on Saturday, or attend
an Encore presentation on Sunday.
For years we heard from members of the opera-loving community about the
Met broadcasts, and for years we tried to make inroads with the
Met. Our moment has come and the effort to set up in time
for the Fall season is underway.
In order to do this we must install satellite equipment, upgrade the
sound system, and buy a new digital projector. All this gear
comes to $30,000.
Will you help? With funds now being matched one to one,
and $1000 pledged already, it's an operatically fabulous time to send a
donation. You can make a secure donation online at www.brattleboroarts.org,
or send a check to BAI, 50
Main Street, Brattleboro,
VT 05301.
Mark it for the Met.
Many thanks.
Cheers,
Gail
PS There will be 12 operas, starting October 9. Ticket prices are
$24 for Saturdays and $22 for Sundays. See the schedule on the BMC website.
PPS All donors are instantly enrolled in the Met Forever Club. Club
members will be able to buy tickets before they are released to
the general public. Plus, Club members are invited to an opening
day brunch at the Latchis. Join the Club, assure your seat, come
to brunch!
