Tuesday evening the Brattleboro Arts Initiative and the Latchis Theater celebrated the grand opening of their newest stage and screen, Latchis 4.
Chocolate covered strawberries, popcorn, and champagne were on hand as people arrived. It's a classy and simple design that pays homage to classic theaters.

Projectors are in place in their booth. One announcement sure to thrill film fans was that the Latchis' upstairs ballroom theater was going to be outfitted with 3-D projection capabilities so the theater will be able to show the latest 3-D films.
A lighting grid is in place for non-movie productions in the new Latchis 4. The room is also wired for sound.
The seats are able to be folded up and put away or assembled together like this and put on risers for a show. They have cup holders. The back row had some wide seats with extra leg room, too.
Latchis fans and funders were on hand to celebrate. Gail Nunziata thanks people who helped, and the Reformer for their photos and coverage in the paper.
A short movie was shown "because we can." After years of work and planning, Latchis 4 is now reality.
